Widely regarded as one of the world's best privately owned hotels, Montpelier offers elegant, gracious accommodation and luxurious style. The Great House, 700 feet above sea level, is set in a 60-acre estate at the southern end of Nevis.

The 17 guest bungalows are dotted around a 10-acre hillside garden and all the rooms are decorated and furnished to a very high standard. They do not have air conditioning as they have been designed to catch the cool, trade wind breezes.

Situated in lush tropical gardens on the eastern edge of the property, a winding path leads you to the newest addition to Montpelier Plantation. The Garden Suite, with bamboo floors, four poster bed, luxurious walk-in shower and a complete wall of Jalousie windows to capture the breeze. The suite embraces nature with a slightly contemporary touch. With private outdoor gazebo and garden where you can enjoy views to the mountain and sea beyond. An adjacent Plantation room can be combined with the Garden suite to create a two bedroom suite.

Hotel attractions include a library, restaurant, bar, tennis court and a large fresh water pool enjoying superb mountain views. The hotel's private beach is equipped with plenty of sunshades, sun beds and a pavilion.

Montpelier's chefs, using local produce whenever possible, offer classical cuisine with contemporary and island inspiration. Jam, marmalade, bread and ice cream are all home made. Dinner is served on the terrace with guests seated at their own tables and either a three course 'Table d'hôte' menu, or a three course 'choice' menu is offered. The hotel does not offer an 'a la carte' menu.

A unique children's programme encourages the children's imaginations and their ability to explore and learn whilst having fun...

Activities include : Nature hikes, cooking classes, pottery making, arts and crafts, story telling, popcorn and movie nights, under the sea (young guests can observe sea animals and plants in tanks or go snorkeling and see them close up in the natural habitats.) Sailing, kayaking, mountain bike rides and tennis camp with meals provided plus snacks and juice. Early dinners are served for 'little guests' at 6pm each day.
