Amerindi is located on Union Island, a small island in the Grenadines and the perfect place to experience the unspoilt Caribbean with its colourful fruit markets, fishing and great snorkeling in the clear waters. You could even swim with the turtles at the nearby Tobago Cays. The island has great uncrowded beaches - some easily accessible and others that can only be reached by boat or on foot - you may even end up with a beach to yourself!
Amerindi is a small family-run boutique hotel offering guests a unique all inclusive experience where everything from food and beverages to unlimited massages and spa treatments facials, pedicures and manicures are included in the price. Treatments can be carried out on the beach or in the privacy of your room - the choice is yours.
The 9 individually decorated suites are situated directly on the private beach. The large suites have four poster beds, separate sitting area and a private balcony overlooking the sea. Each suite is individually designed and decorated with a mix of local and Scandinavian furniture, textiles, decor and art.
Dining at the Amerindi is an experience in itself. The beachfront Cassava restaurant offers a blend of international and traditional Caribbean cuisine but you can dine anywhere you like. If you are celebrating during your stay just let them know and the owners and staff will do everything possible to accommodate you whether it's a romantic dinner on your private balcony or a beach picnic. The chefs are constantly creating wonderful menus with homemade food for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as snacks throughout the day.
Union Island may be small but there are plenty of places for the more adventurous guest to explore - visit old Fort Hill or hike down to Chatham Beach with picnic. If you want to take to the warm Caribbean waters why not board a sea kayak and explore the bay or use the snorkelling equipment for an underwater adventure. Alternatively accompany a fisherman and learn to fish local style with a hand line then take your catch to the chef who will prepare it for your lunch or dinner.
A trip to the nearby Tobago Cays, a National Marine Park, offers some of the best snorkeling and diving in the Caribbean and well worth a visit. This protected area consists of 5 small uninhabited islands with some of the most beautiful beaches surrounded by crystal clear turquoise water. The protected area is home to an exceptionally high number of sea turtles and for many visitors, the most exciting part of a visit to the Cays is the oportunity to swim with the sea turtles in the waters of the main lagoon.
