Caribbean Holidays : Holidays in Small Islands

The Small Islands of the Caribbean offer amazing sailing and wonderful accommodation

Called Natures Little Secrets, the British Virgin Islands consist of over 100 islands, many of which are uninhabited, offering the kind of turquoise waters, powdery white sands and picturesque harbours that Caribbean dreams are made of. Tortola, the largest of the BVIs, has secluded, palm-shaded beaches with gloriously welcoming names like Apple Bay and Smugglers Cove. The dramatically shaped island of Virgin Goda is home to the biggest natural attraction of the British Virgin Islands, The Baths, where massive granite boulders create a connecting trail of grottoes and saltwater pools to explore, snorkel and swim in.

Another group of small islands with a big offering is St. Vincent and the Grenadines. St. Vincent is home to a rugged mountainous terrain, lush rainforest and some blissfully uncluttered beaches, whilst the other 32-odd islands that make up the Grenadines include unspoilt Bequia and magical Mustique, where crystal clear waters teem with a myriad of marine life for dream diving and some of the best sailing conditions in the world.

If you are looking for that certain je ne sais quoi, then one small island definitely worth exploring is the chic and stylish St. Barts. Feel its French influence everywhere as you dine on gourmet food, shop in exclusive boutiques and mingle with the rich and famous on what, many would argue, is the most beautiful of all the Caribbean islands.
